Regarding removal of "via @addthis" from twitter sharing

webx Feb 22, 2012 01:11PM EST

I'm using URL endpoints and when testing out my Twitter share link I noticed that "via @addthis" is appending at the end of the tweet. Is there a way I can remove that and if not at least be able to control that content?

This is my code:
<a href="http://0-api.addthis.com.innopac.up.ac.za/oexchange/0.8/forward/twitter/offer?pco=tbx32nj-1.0&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Ftest60.testdrivecx.progressive.com%2FSocialNetworking%2FSocialNetworking%3Fid%3D201&amp;pubid=webx&amp;title=I'm+an+C+driver,+according+to+@Progressive.+Can+you+beat+that?+Find+out+by+trying+Snapshot,+too:" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" ><img src="http://emailimages2.progressive.com/Images/Uber/button_twitter_25w.png" border="0" alt="Twitter" /></a>

You can remove that with either the via attribute or the template attribute, as described on this page: http://0-www.addthis.com.innopac.up.ac.za/help/sharing-api#twitter

Try using this code:

<a href="http://0-api.addthis.com.innopac.up.ac.za/oexchange/0.8/forward/twitter/offer?pco=tbx32nj-1.0&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Ftest60.testdrivecx.progressive.com%2FSocialNetworking%2FSocialNetworking%3Fid%3D201&amp;pubid=webx&amp;template=I'm+an+C+driver,+according+to+@Progressive.+Can+you+beat+that?+Find+out+by+trying+Snapshot,+too:%20" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" ><img src="http://emailimages2.progressive.com/Images/Uber/button_twitter_25w.png" border="0" alt="Twitter" /></a>

Thanks for the help.

This doesn't seem to work. My link gets ripped from the share. I'm looking for the end result to be like this:

I'm an C driver, according to @Progressive. Can you beat that? Find out by trying Snapshot, too: http://bit.ly/znN0we via @addthis

Any other ideas? I tried using title, description, template, etc.

Sorry, meant to say that I'm looking for it to work like this, which is without "via addthis" content.

I'm an C driver, according to @Progressive. Can you beat that? Find out by trying Snapshot, too: http://bit.ly/znN0we
